Service Description: This telehealth service provides an in-depth discussion of your pet’s health issues or concerns, preventive health options, cancer treatment options, nutrition and supplement selections, herbal formulas, and cannabis therapy questions. We combine conventional and holistic approaches to optimize their health and quality of life.

For pets located outside of California, we cannot diagnose, treat, or prescribe medications. The telehealth consultation is for informational purposes only.

Telemedicine, General Advice, and Telehealth Agreement
Overview: For communications between veterinarians and animal owners, it is crucial to distinguish whether a Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) has been established. Telemedicine involves client-facing interactions where specific patient information is shared and is permissible only within the context of an established VCPR. Alternatively, non-client-facing models provide general advice, telemarketing, and advertising.

Telemedicine Services: We offer telemedicine services exclusively when a VCPR is established. This ensures that the information delivered is specific to your pet’s health needs and conditions.

General Advice for Non-VCPR Consultations: We provide general advice for those seeking a consultation without an established VCPR. This includes:

  • Health Information and Opinions: Guidance or recommendations on prudent future actions.
  • Limitations: This advice does not diagnose, prognose, treat, correct, change, alleviate, or prevent any animal disease, illness, pain, deformity, defect, injury, or other physical, dental, or mental conditions.

You may request a telehealth consultation if you do not have an established VCPR.

Telehealth Services: Telehealth services involve the safe, appropriate, and timely assessment and management of animal patients via electronic consultation. This includes:

  • Assessment: Based on the owner’s report of history and clinical signs, sometimes supplemented by visual information (photographs, video).
  • Management: Determining the urgency and need for immediate referral to a veterinarian.
  • Limitations: No diagnosis is rendered, and medications are not prescribed.

Updated California Regulations – For clients located in California:

  • Establishing VCPR: A VCPR can be established through telehealth by examining the animal patient using synchronous audio-video communication.
  • Standards of Care: The same standards of care apply to veterinary medicine services provided via telehealth as those provided in person.
  • In-Person Visits: Clients can choose an in-person visit from a veterinarian at any time.
  • Follow-Up Care: Clients are advised on how to receive follow-up care or assistance in the event of an adverse reaction to the treatment or technological or equipment failure.

Outside California: For patients outside California, we provide general advice and telehealth services only. We do not diagnose, treat, or prescribe medications.

This agreement ensures that all clients receive the highest standard of care, whether through telehealth or in-person consultations while adhering to state-specific regulations.
