I saw a post online recently that truly made my heart sink.
Her mom was told there were only two choices: chemo and radiation, or palliative care (basically keeping her comfortable while she dies) 🥺
Her mom didn’t want her to go through chemo or radiation, and since she was already a senior lady, she chose the palliative route. And you could see how deeply this devastated her 💔
What broke my heart is knowing how many vets and pet parents truly believe their options stop there.
But it couldn’t be farther from the truth 💫
There’s so much we can do that’s side-effect free, non-invasive, and focused on helping pets with cancer actually heal.
Here are just a few of the therapies that come to mind and they’re all gentle yet powerful tools in the integrative toolbox👇
✨ Ozone therapy
✨ Mistletoe therapy
✨ IV vitamin C
✨ CBD and medicinal cannabis
✨ Medicinal mushrooms
✨ Therapeutic diets like keto
I’m not saying this sweet dog would have definitely healed.
But there’s a chance she could have. And that possibility… it matters.
When I spoke with Rodney Habib, co-author of The Forever Dog, on the My Dog Is Better Than Your Dog podcast recently, he shared how, when his own dog got cancer, he traveled across the world meeting with integrative vets in search of answers and learned so much.
(Spoiler alert: he was able to get the cancer into remission 💪)
I’ll share his cancer series at the end of this email 🎥
Getting a cancer diagnosis is scary. Of course it is. But it should never feel like a hopeless diagnosis.
And I want every pet parent and vet to know that.
That’s why my team and I are putting together a free mini cancer guide for pet parents, a resource that gathers therapies, stories, and practical steps all in one loving place. And this mini guide is going to be totally free.
You see I want this mini guide to be a starting point for when someone gets that devastating news… when the room starts spinning, and you feel frozen in fear because you don’t know what comes next.
If that’s you right now, please know you’re not alone. That feeling of overwhelm, the sleepless nights, the racing “what-ifs”… it’s something so many loving pet parents have walked through.
And I want this guide to give you a place to land. A sense of direction. Even just a little hope in the midst of it all 🌈
While my team and I are working on this mini guide, I would love to hear what your biggest questions about cancer are.
What do you want us to include? Just send us an email at info@integrativepet.com and let me know.
And if you want to be the very first to receive the guide when it’s ready, email us at info@integrativepet.com with the words “cancer guide” and we’ll make sure it lands in your inbox. It’s totally free 💌
And if you or someone you love is already walking this path, we’ve created a podcast playlist with all our cancer-focused episodes in one place. You can send it to anyone who might need it 🐾💖
