This has been a heavy week for Los Angeles, and my heart is with everyone affected by the devastating fires. Having called this city home for 27 years, it’s surreal and heartbreaking to see the familiar landscapes I love so deeply transformed by flames.
I moved to the U.S. from Taiwan when I was 13, first to upstate New York. But when it was time to apply to colleges, my heart was set on California—I checked off every University of California campus. UCLA brought me here, UC Davis shaped my veterinary journey, and Los Angeles became my forever home. It’s a place of magic, resilience, and community, and I have no doubt that LA will come back stronger than ever.
Yet, seeing the scenes this week has been like watching a nightmare unfold. As I write this on Sunday morning, I see warnings of Santa Ana winds returning, adding to the uncertainty and fear.
Moments like these remind us what truly matters. While the fire does not threaten our area at this time, I found myself mentally running through a checklist of what I’d take if evacuation became necessary—passports, documents, irreplaceable old photos and that’s about it. When it comes down to it, the stuff we accumulate fades in importance next to the safety of our loved ones.
For now, we’re praying for containment and focusing on how we can help.
To support our community and pets impacted by the fires and poor air quality, tomorrow (Monday), we’re offering free ozone rectal insufflation treatments to all our existing patients.
This simple, holistic therapy:
🌿 Increases oxygenation
🌿 Reduces inflammation
🌿 Supports detoxification
Pets are incredibly sensitive to environmental changes like these, and we want to do everything we can to support their health during this time.
No appointment is necessary—just walk into our clinic Monday afternoon between 2:00 PM and 4:30 PM to receive this treatment.
Together with the generosity from Anicell – we will also be offering our stem cell-rich treatment – the Amnion Therapy – for 50% off for animals affected by the fire. See the Starlight Story below. 💖
Sending love, strength, and healing to all of you.
With love,
