⭐️ Reflecting on Insights and Unity: A Week of Learning and Leadership

Hello, everyone! 🦄

Last week, Dianne and I embarked on an enlightening journey to Orlando for a veterinary conference, unlike any we’ve attended before. This wasn’t your typical veterinary gathering; it was a high-level veterinary business conference that dove into leadership, the economy, and business insights spanning various industries, with speakers from diverse fields sharing their wisdom. 🌟

The conference was a treasure trove of knowledge. We delved into the current economic landscape, explored the concept of the ” The 4th Turning,” and gained a deeper understanding of generational differences, bridging the gap with practical strategies. A particularly resonant topic was the optimism quotient and happiness, including the profound impact of music and dancing on our mental well-being. 🎶💃

We were captivated by discussions on efficiency, productivity, and the pearls of wisdom from the author of “The Four Disciplines of Execution.” Learning about the state of the U.S. economy and the future was eye-opening. The diversity of insights and the forward-looking discussions were truly inspirational.

One of the conference’s most beautiful aspects was the sense of community. Meeting friends and colleagues from all over, regardless of geographical location or hospital size, we found that we share many of the same concerns, successes, and struggles. It’s a powerful reminder of the unity within our profession. 💕

Returning to the clinic, we had a meeting with a software company representative, which led to a humorous and somewhat unexpected moment. When asked if we had an “advisory board” to run decisions by, I couldn’t help but laugh. The “board” was right there in the room: me, Dianne, and Shannon. Despite not ever having jobs like this before – our roles and navigating the waters of practice ownership and management for the first time, we’ve worked incredibly hard, showed up even when things were rough, and built something truly special to all of us. 🌈

Looking around the room, my heart swelled with pride for the space we’ve created and the incredible team standing with us. We are a woman-led company, proud of our space where our voices lead to impactful changes. This week, I’m feeling especially inspired to be more courageous and to extend that encouragement to all of you. If you’re facing challenges or need a bit of extra courage, remember, we’re here for you. 🙌
