Can you believe how quickly summer has flown by? It’s my favorite season, full of life, energy, joy, and transformations. For my family, it’s that precious gap between the end of one school year and the start of another—a time to slow down and savor more moments together. At work, summer often brings growth and new beginnings. As you’ve seen, we are embracing an exciting new chapter. In the past, change sometimes brought anxiety about the unknown. But this summer, I’ve been living joyfully, connecting deeply, and embracing everything fully. It’s a beautiful feeling to trust that whatever happens is meant to be, and to know that the universe has a plan.
I’ve been immersing myself in the practice of meditation and manifestation. The science behind neuroplasticity—how our brain and physiology change in response to our thoughts—is truly fascinating. Our thoughts, energies, and frequencies can create real changes within us and in our surroundings. This isn’t mystical; our hormones and neurotransmitters respond to the signals they receive. With practice, we can influence these processes. There are documented cases of people overcoming physical and emotional illnesses by changing their thought patterns. We can indeed connect with our subconscious and tap into our body’s intricate inner workings to produce real changes.
Recently, I took a few days off to attend a retreat focused on self-discovery, meditation, and connecting with the universe’s energy. It was a transformative journey that changed how I approach my day-to-day life. Even the simple act of getting to know myself better has been incredibly illuminating. Having a regular twice-daily meditation practice has been a game changer for me!
I’ve also been thinking about how we can apply these principles to our pets. Many pets experience anxiety and stress just like us, which can manifest as physical ailments. While I can’t quite teach them to meditate (yet!), we have seen profound effects through energy work like Reiki, sound, and vibrational therapy. An animal’s emotional state greatly impacts their physical state, and this is an area we continue to explore and develop with all our patients.
