If your pet has gut issues, you need to hear Paddington’s story (it has a really good ending) 😊
I started seeing Paddington, a sweet rescue who must have some Labradoodle in her, when she was just a year old.
By that time, she had already been through so much—she had been seeing an internal medicine specialist for months because of persistent soft stool and diarrhea.
And every few weeks, she would have awful vomiting and regurgitation episodes.
It was heartbreaking 🥺
She even had emergency room visits for excessive vomiting.
She went through so many tests—blood work, X-rays, everything they could think of.
Eventually, she was put on a hydrolyzed diet, which is an ultra-processed kibble, and had to remove everything else from her food.
If you’ve ever had a pet with chronic health issues, you know how exhausting and discouraging it can be when you try everything and nothing seems to help 🥺
On top of that, Paddington was a very anxious girl.
Her mom felt like her tummy issues were part of the problem, but that maybe she was also just naturally stressed?
She was super territorial, barked a lot, and was really skittish on walks.
It was like her whole nervous system was on edge.
I had a hunch right away that this wasn’t who Paddington was, but rather a product of her messed up microbiome.
(So many mood and behavior issues can actually be linked to an unbalanced microbiome 🦠)
And then she came to see me at the Wellness Center 💜🐩
We ran some tests right away and found out her microbiome was completely out of balance.
No wonder she felt so awful.
So, we started her on fecal transplants to help restore her gut health.
Her case was pretty severe, so it actually took 3 complete courses of fecal transplants to see real improvements.
(And here’s the thing—this is where a lot of pet parents stop too soon. Holistic therapies do work, but they take time, and you have to stick with them long enough to see real change.)
But little by little, Paddington started getting better.
Her stool firmed up.
She wasn’t vomiting as much anymore.
And the best part?
We were finally able to start adding fresh food back into her diet 🎉
We kept doing fecal transplants and we kept testing her microbiome.
It took about six months to see big improvements and a full year to completely resolve everything. But when she was better—she was truly better.
No more diarrhea, no more vomiting.
And the changes didn’t stop there.
She actually was starting to be in a good mood all the time.
She started being able to go to daycare, play with other dogs, and actually love being around people.
And now Paddington only needs to come in for a wellness visit every 6 months.

Like any big goal in life, this journey took patience and persistence, and I really want to honor Paddington’s mom for never giving up.
She kept going until she found a solution that truly worked 💖
And I know so many of you have done the same for your pets!
You all, my Unicorn Pet Parents, are amazing!
