Yesterday, I watched a documentary that had me sitting on the edge of my seat…

It was called Free Solo.

It was about this extraordinary young man Alex Hannold who took on the challenge of climbing El Capitan, a sheer cliff of granite in Yosemite National Park 🧗‍♂️

And he was going to do it without being attached to any ropes or safety equipment.

One slip, one rock giving way under his feet, and it would all be over.

I couldn’t help my eyes welling up when he pulled himself over the last edge onto the top of the cliff 🥹

He stood there 3000ft above the ground. He’d done something no human being had done before ⛰️

It struck me how human beings could do anything if they decided to.

If we could defy the odds and scale a rock face bare handed…

If we could walk on the moon…

if we create intelligent mini computers we all carry with us all day…

Then surely we could successfully get cancer into remission for humans and pets who have it.

I was reminded of one dog who defied the odds stacked against her, too 💪

Her name was Elbie.

Elbie was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma (a type of blood cancer) and was having internal bleeding as a result.

The diagnosing vet said she wouldn’t live beyond another two weeks – this is true from the conventional research and data for hemangiosarcoma.

Elbie’s mum did not give up though – she started giving her a powerful Chinese herbal formula to stop internal bleeding, and a month later, Elbie was still with them.

Seeing there was hope, her mum went looking for someone who could guide her in helping Elbie heal naturally.

And she found us 🦄

We put Elbie on a fresh food diet, gave her supplements, and focused on balancing her microbiome.

We restored any vitamin and mineral deficiencies she had.

And every week she came in for acupuncture and ozone therapy to help her immune system get as healthy as possible.

She eventually passed away TWO YEARS later due to kidney disease as a very old girl. But not from her cancer.

Of all the cancers I treat, hemangiosarcoma has my heart.

I know that’s super nerdy, but what can I say I’m an integrative vet

In fact, I recently invested $ 15,000 in integrative oncology training.

Yup. $ 15,000. And it was so worthwhile I will keep investing in this journey.

I’m willing to do whatever it takes to find the answers my pet patients need.

If you know anyone whose pet has cancer, here’s a handy link for you to share the cancer support we offer with them.
