Watching the Kiss the Ground documentary, which was all about how we can heal our soil, I was struck by how, as a society, we’ve normalized using chemicals like glyphosate aka Roundup 🌱
When we spray Roundup on wheat to get rid of weeds-both the wheat and the weeds die.
Grains have had to be genetically modified and turned into “roundup-ready grains” that are able to survive the intense poison.
But what about our pets that are exposed to glyphosate even though they don’t live anywhere near agricultural areas?
What does it do to their bodies? 😳
As an integrative vet, I’ve noticed that when I test the cancer pets in my care, over 90% of them have extremely high glyphosate levels.
Does glyphosate cause cancer? There are studies that say yes.
I haven’t quite decided yet if the glyphosate is causing the cancer or if it’s the cancer worsening the detox pathways that are making it harder for the pet to get the glyphosate out of their system.
For now, the best we can do is limit our pets’ exposure to glyphosate, test them regularly, and help detox their bodies.
You might be thinking, “Wait! Is my pet getting exposed to glyphosate”?! 😳
If your pet lives in a neighborhood where people use Roundup on their lawns, lives in an agricultural area or eats highly processed foods like kibbles, the chances of them being exposed to glyphosate are high.
(Many kibbles are made with grains that have been sprayed with glyphosate).
This is why I encourage every pet parent to put their furbaby on a fresh food diet and to do a glyphosate test every 3-6 months.
You can literally drop off your pet’s urine, and we’ll run the test and let you know the results – if you need to worry about glyphosate.
It’s so easy and it’s such an important part of cancer prevention.
And because November is cancer prevention awareness month, you can get 10% off your glyphosate test. Just mention “pumpkin pie” when you book 😉🥧
Email us to drop off a urine test for glyphosate testing.
