Hi Dianne,

This week, I’ve been deeply touched by the resilience of people. In the face of devastation, I’ve witnessed so much courage, kindness, and an unwavering ability to keep moving forward. It’s been a reminder that even in the hardest moments, we find strength—not just in ourselves, but in each other.

And that resilience? It gives me hope. It helps me find gratitude. It reminds me that even through challenges, we can choose to keep showing up, to keep finding light in the dark, and to keep taking the next step forward.

Life, to me, feels a lot like the ocean… 🌊 Some days, the waves come crashing in—big, powerful, and relentless. Other days, they’re gentler, but they’re always there, rolling in and out. And even in the moments between, when the water seems calm, it’s never truly still.

That’s how I’ve come to see stress and challenges—the waves of life just keep coming. But what if, instead of waiting for the ocean to be still, we learned to ride the waves?

For me, meditation has become like a surfboard—a way to stay afloat instead of being pulled under. 🏄🏻‍♀️ It’s a practice that helps me find peace even when things feel chaotic. And right now, I want to share that with you.

So, in the spirit of finding calm amidst the storm, I want to offer you a pet-and-me meditation we recorded recently with our amazing Concierge Members. 🛎️🐾

My hope is that this brings you and your furbaby a moment of stillness together—a place to breathe, reset, and find your own strength.

With all my love,
🦄 Dr. Lily & Team Unicorn

P.S. Give your furry friend an extra snuggle today—they’re riding the waves with you, too. 💕

Podcast Hour

In this episode, I catch up with Shannon, my former technician at Integrative Pet, who is now in vet school. We chatted about her experience in vet school, how she used her mindset as a gymnast to help her cultivate the resilience she needed in a demanding vet program, working as a team in the veterinary space and how we need more female vets in leadership positions. And we dive deep into mental health for both vets and pet parents. Whether you’re a student vet, a practicing vet, or a pet parent this episode is for you.

Starlight Stories

Magical Friends,

It’s me, Starlight, your friendly neighborhood unicorn with a sparkle of wisdom and a sprinkle of love. I’m writing today with an important update to help keep your furry friends safe and sound.

🌟 Did you know? In late November, a human rabies case was reported in Fresno County—truly heartbreaking. And in 2024 alone, 49 rabid bats have been found in LA County. While only a small percentage of bats in nature carry rabies, nearly 20% of those tested by public health have been positive. Yikes!

Here’s what you need to do to protect your pets:

🛡️ 1. Double-Check Rabies Vaccines:
If your pet is overdue for their rabies vaccine, it’s time to schedule it ASAP. Staying up to date is their magical shield against this dangerous disease!

✨ 2. Consider a Rabies Titer Test:
Not sure if your pet’s immunity is strong enough? A titer test can confirm they’re protected.

🦇 3. Bat or Wildlife Encounters? Report Them!
If you see a bat—or your pet has unsupervised access to one—don’t let it fly away. Call 211 for animal control to safely test the bat. And always let Veterinary Public Health know about any wildlife encounters.
