Hello, wonderful friends!

This week, I embarked on an exciting new venture – recording my podcast with guests! 🎙️ And who better to kick off this journey with than my favorite specialist, Dr. Trina Hazzah. Many of you know Dr. Hazzah as a board-certified veterinary oncologist, and she also pioneers cannabis therapy in veterinary medicine, a field she bravely entered long before there was ample published scientific evidence to support its use. 🌿💚

After our episode, Dr. Hazzah and I had a heartfelt conversation about our paths. We discussed the unique challenges we face in holistic medicine. Our work is grounded in science, yet there’s a notable scarcity of published data and research. However, like all major scientific breakthroughs, progress requires a community willing to embrace new and innovative treatments. It’s this collective effort that helps groundbreaking ideas gain traction and evolve. 🌍✨

While this path isn’t always easy, Trina and I find profound purpose and fulfillment in our work. We aren’t the type to sit in a box and be told what to do, and we know many of you feel the same way. Together, we strive to ask more questions, dive deeper, and look beyond conventional boundaries. 🐾

I cherish my time as a conventional veterinarian, but I’m incredibly proud of this holistic journey. ❤️

On this long weekend, I hope you’re finding time to rest, rejuvenate, or embark on an adventure. 🌸✨ Thank you for being part of this amazing community. I’m grateful for each and every one of you. 💖

p.s. Watch me and Trina having a little heart-to-heart conversation that happened after the recording of our podcast here. 😘

With love and light,
Dr. Lily Chen 🌟

Starlight Stories

Hello!
It’s your favorite unicorn, Starlight, here to sprinkle a little magic into your day and share some important tips as we head into the warm summer months. 🌟

Summer is a fantastic time to enjoy the outdoors with your furry friends, but it’s essential to keep their safety in mind, especially when it comes to the heat. Here are a few things to watch out for:

1.Hot Pavements: Did you know that pavements can get scorching hot under the summer sun? If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws! Try to walk your pets early in the morning or later in the evening when the ground is cooler. You can also find grassy areas or shaded paths to keep those paws protected.

2. Stay Hydrated: Just like us, pets need plenty of water to stay cool and hydrated. Make sure they always have access to fresh, clean water, whether they’re indoors or out on an adventure. Bring a portable water bowl on walks and offer frequent water breaks.

3. Prevent Overheating: Overheating is a serious risk for pets during the summer. Watch for signs like excessive panting, drooling, or lethargy. If your pet seems overheated, move them to a cooler spot immediately, offer water, and apply cool (not cold) water to their body. Avoid overexertion during the hottest parts of the day.

Remember, your pets rely on you to keep them safe and comfortable. By taking these simple precautions, you can ensure a fun and safe summer for everyone.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and have a magical summer with your furry friends! 🐾🌈

With love and sparkles,
Starlight 🌟
