Let me tell you a story…

So in the 1930s, a British physician named Dr. Edward Bach did something radical.

He left behind a prestigious Harley Street medical practice, not to chase fame or fortune, but to wander through the English countryside, following his intuition, and collecting wildflowers.

He believed that flowers held vibrational signatures that could help heal specific emotional states 💗

That grief, fear, jealousy, and even resentment could be gently soothed by flower essences. Each flower’s unique medicine chipped away at a very specific emotion.

And I think what people don’t always realize is just how precise Dr. Bach’s system really is.

Like, take fear for example. It might seem like one simple emotion, right?

But just like fear can show up in so many different ways, there are different flowers to help with each type.

Mimulus is for fear of known things. Rock Rose is for terror. Aspen is for fear of the unknown.

Through years of trial and error, gently testing these flower essences with his patients and observing which emotional patterns softened, Dr. Bach eventually developed 38 unique remedies, each designed to help bring our hearts back into harmony 🌸

Honestly, I think he was way ahead of his time 💁‍♀️

Because today, more than ever, we’re seeing animals and people carrying so much emotional weight, chronic stress, anxiety, trauma, and grief 🥺🌍

And what Dr. Bach knew back then still rings true: The heart deserves as much attention as the body.

Which is why I’m so excited to share this with you—I just completed my certification in the core 38 Bach Flower Remedy system 🌼

And if you’re still feeling a little skeptical (I get it!), just listen to this story my dear friend and fellow integrative vet and Bach remedy expert Dr. Magda shared on the podcast 🐶👇

A sweet pup came into her clinic completely shut down after a traumatic grooming appointment. For weeks and weeks, he hadn’t played, wagged his tail, or really even shown any joy.

His parents were so heartbroken, and they didn’t want to put him on Prozac, but they also didn’t know what else to try.

Magda sat with them, listened, and then gently offered him a treat with a few drops of Rescue Remedy on it.

And in moments… he shook his little body like he was releasing all that stuck trauma, and started wagging his tail 💫

It was the first time in a month.

His mom gasped, “What drug did you just give my dog?!”

Magda smiled. “That’s just Bach Flower Rescue Remedy.”

I still get goosebumps every time I hear that story.

This is the power of energy medicine. Sometimes, it can reach places even the strongest pharmaceuticals can’t touch ✨

And it’s not just for trauma. I’ve seen and heard of Bach remedies supporting:

  • Cats who started peeing on the rug after their person got a new partner (Holly flower is a beautiful remedy for envy and spite)

  • Dogs who absorb their humans’ stressful emotions and worry a lot about their person (White & Red Chestnut are perfect for these sensitive souls 💕)

  • Even Beagles who were raised in a lab and never learned how to play 🥺 (Zinnia helped them find their spark of joy 🌼)

But here’s the thing—flower essences only work when you find the exact match for the emotion your pet is feeling.

And that’s where someone trained in this work can really help.

Sometimes it takes a bit of gentle exploration, but together, we can find the right support.

If you’re curious whether this could help your own animal (or even yourself, yes, flower essences work for both people and pets!), I would love to work with you.

Honestly, one of my dreams is to create personalized flower essence companion remedies for pets and their people—because so often, they’re feeling the same emotional themes, and healing together can be powerful 💞

So if this speaks to you, just send us an email and we’ll get you booked for a session 💌

With love, wonder, and wildflowers,
💖Dr. Lily Chen
