How has your holiday season been so far? šāØ
For me, the end of the year is usually a time to slow downāavoiding the holiday travel madness, skipping long lines, and savoring the small joys like hot cocoa and cozy movie nights with the family. š«š½ļø This year, we watchedĀ Inside OutĀ andĀ Inside Out 2. Have you seen them? Disney truly captured the intricate dance of emotions and core memories in such a brilliant, heartfelt way. It made me reflect deeply on my own core memories, beliefs, and the year thatās passed.
Speaking of reflections, I had an unexpected āFriend Dayā on Fridayāa full day spent reconnecting with some incredible people who hold such special places in my heart.
The day began with inspiringĀ conversations with Dylan, practice owner of multiple successful vet clinics and specialty center,Ā where we exchanged lessons learned and dreams for the future. On the way to Pasadena later that day, I caught up with my best friend from high school, a fellow working mom who always gets me.
When I arrived, I visited Stan, a longtime friend and now a thriving practice owner. We started as vet techs together (he still jokes that I taught him how to place an IV catheter!), went to vet school, and even did an internship together. I got to visit his hospital, and found one of his associate doctors used to be an awesome veterinary tech for me from my first job! We spent hours catching up, and I even got to help with a quick suture removal (couldn’t help myself, I actually just love being able to do these things!)
That evening, I had dinner with my elementary school friendsā38 years of friendship! š„¹ Thereās something so grounding about being with people whoāve known you since you were eight. You can strip away all the layers and justĀ be.
Driving home that night, my mind replayed all the conversationsāmemories from childhood to recent professional breakthroughs, lifeās joys and challenges, and everything in between. I couldnāt help but think about those glowing memory orbs fromĀ Inside Out. Every moment, every connection shapes us, some in big ways, some subtleābut all are vital to who we are.
Gratitude for the Present
As we wrap up 2024, Iām struck by how much can change in a single year. This has been one of the most challenging years for IPWC, yet also one of the most beautiful. It reminded me of a truth Iāve come to embrace: life unfolds exactly as itās meant to. Each stage is its own gift.
Iāve often said success, to me, feels like having a fresh bouquet of flowers on my tableāan indulgence I didnāt allow myself for years. But Iāve learned to embrace those little joys, to celebrateĀ nowĀ rather than waiting for the āperfectā time.
So hereās my wish for us all: Letās find joy in the present moment, cherish the unexpected, and honor how far weāve come. Life is already a gift. Letās allow it to bloom fully, like that bouquet on the table. šøĀ
Iām not much of a New Yearās Resolution kind of girl. Instead, as the year winds down, I like to pause and reflect by asking myself a few simple but meaningful questions:
- āØ What lessons have I learned this year, and what can I let go of?
- āØ Which relationships feel the most important and nourishing to me right now?
Then, I revisit the intention I set for the past year and take a moment to choose my new one. These words become my compass, grounding and guiding me through whatever comes next.
For 2024, my words wereĀ CourageĀ andĀ Abundance.
For 2025, Iām stepping into the year withĀ GenerosityĀ andĀ EaseĀ as my anchors.
What about you? What intentions or words will you carry into the new year? š
Cheers to 2025! š„
With love and hope,
Dr. Lily
Starlight Stories
Hello, magical friends! š¦ Itās me, Starlight, your trusty unicorn guide, here to reflect on the incredible journey weāve had this year. 2024 was a rollercoaster of glittery highs and a few tricky moments, but through it all, weāve grown strongerāand I wouldnāt trade a single moment of it!
Letās start with the highlights. This year, we celebrated so many beautiful milestones and magical achievements together. From big wins to small victories, every step forward was a reminder of how amazing life can be when we keep moving toward our dreams.
Of course, there were some challenges, too. Not every day felt like a rainbow. But you know what kept me going? Youāmy wonderful, sparkly friends. Your support and kindness reminded me that no unicorn has to journey alone. If thereās one lesson Iām carrying into 2025, itās this: cherish your friends. Theyāre the stars in your sky, the ones who make every moment brighter and every challenge a little easier to tackle.
Now, as we turn the page to a brand-new year, I can feel the excitement for whatās to come. 2025 is a blank canvas, ready for us to create something extraordinary. I know weāll face it together with courage, creativity, and, of course, a sprinkle of magic.
So hereās to a new chapter, my friends. Thank you for being part of my storyāyou make it all so much brighter. Letās make 2025 our best year yet!
