Hello, friends!

I touched down in sunny Los Angeles today, greeted by a perfect 70-degree day ā˜€ļø. As much as I adore traveling, there’s something so grounding about being back home šŸ”.

Oh, and guess what, besides the bunnies my daughter packed on the trip, she brought another 🐰 friend home 🤣

My recent trip to Japan was a whirlwind of connection, reflection, and inspiration. From reuniting with friends (some I hadn’t seen in over a decade!) to soaking in serene onsen hot springs šŸ›, every moment felt like a gift. One highlight I’ll never forget was a quiet morning by a rushing creek in a secluded mountainside onsen. I found myself sipping hot tea šŸµ, practicing yoga šŸ§˜ā€ā™€ļø, and feelingĀ clarity about what truly lights me up. (see thisĀ Instagram videoĀ for a snippet of my yoga time)

In that stillness, I was reminded of the Japanese concept ofĀ Ikigai—your ā€œreason for being.ā€ It’s such a beautiful notion, isn’t it? Life gets so busy with endless to-do listsĀ and commitments that we often forget to step back and ask:Ā Am I living my purpose? Am I contributing in the way I want to?

For me, the answer became crystal clear on this trip. My passion lies in bringing integrative medicine to pets all over the world šŸŒŽā€”helping them thrive in ways that honor both modern science and holistic healing. That vision feels like my Ikigai, my North Star 🌟, and I’m so excited to dive even deeper into this work in the coming years.

As we head into the holiday season, I encourage you to take a moment to slow down. Find your quiet place—whether it’s a cozy chair with a cup of tea šŸ‚ or a walk in nature šŸŒ³ā€”and reflect. What fills your heart? What’s your Ikigai?

Wherever this season finds you, know that I’m thinking of you and cheering you on as you align with your own ā€œreason for being.ā€

With gratitude and love,
Dr. Lily šŸ’›
